Venetian Terrace

Getting to the Venetian Terrace

Venice is easily accessible from the rest of Europe, the US, and from destinations farther afield.

Arrive by air

Many European national carriers, as well as budget airlines, fly to Marco Polo Airport, located just across the water from Venice. In addition, Treviso Airport, some 40 kms farther north, is well served by low-cost carriers. Excellent bus transfers are provided to the main dropping-off point in Venice – Piazzale Roma – from both these airports.

Take the vaporetto

For a slower, more spectacular entrance into Venice, the vaporetto (water bus) provides a service from Marco Polo Airport, stopping at various points throughout the city.

Likewise, if your arrival into Venice is by train, Stazione Santa Lucia on the Grand Canal will be your final disembarkation, and the vaporetto can be picked up outside the station.

Hop a taxi

However, the location of ‘The Venetian Terrace, Dorsoduro’ is unique in that road taxis, parked outside Marco Polo Airport, have special dispensation to drive to the Marittima (port) on the Zattere to drop off guests. From here, we are located a few hundred meters with no bridges to cross! Fares range in price from 35 euros, depending on the traffic, but for convenience most of our guests have claimed that this quick choice has proved invaluable, particularly with heavy suitcases.

Splurge on a water taxi

And, for those who wish to splurge on the ultimate, but more costly, luxury, a private water taxi can be hired from either Marco Polo Airport or in Venice itself to convey you directly to our apartment’s front door!

Full details, including maps of the most convenient routes to ‘The Venetian Terrace, Dorsoduro’ are included in our "Welcome Brochure" which will be sent to you about a month before your stay with us.
